Chris Kandis
Chris Kandis was 21 years old when he won his first art award. Within 12 months he was travelling and working as an artist in Europe, rounding out his studies after graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from RMIT.
The experience confirmed painting as a profession for Chris who was born in Melbourne in 1966. Leonard Long encouraged Chris by taking him on annual painting camps from the age of 14. Chris has been described as approaching the Australian landscape with a romantic vision of images by painters from the 19th Century, but is both Impressionist and Realist and does not want to be seen as a purely traditional artist. |

Eric Shepherd
Eric's passion for Wildlife, started at an early age when as a child he would play in the forests of Derbyshire England, seeking out birds nests, or just watching a King Fisher darting back and forth to its nest as he sat on the bank of a pond fishing with his friends. These memories would remain, until later in life when he would turn his talents to portraying his love of wildlife.

Laurel Foenander
Laurel was born in Warragul and began painting in 1995. Since then her paintings have found their way into collections in England, Japan, Singapore, America as well as Australia wide.
Being a keen gardener, a love of nature and colour are common threads in her work and she finds the immediacy of still life and flower studies a perfect contrast to the careful research needed for depicting our beautiful native birds.
Laurel paints in all mediums, acrylic, oil and pastel. She finds pastel perfect for the texture of feathers, but has perfected her use of the other mediums over recent years.

Sandra Pleydell
''Loving art all my life, it was not until 1970 that I commenced oil painting seriously with noted landscape artist John Spimks
This association lasted 17 years and although I enjoyed a certain amount of success, I was still wanting to explore furture aspects of art so undertook a TAFE course in 1987 studying graphic desogn, painting and drawing.
This ultimately led me to teaching drawing classes for several years.
In 1999 I started studying botanical art with the Botanical Art Scholl and have been painting in water colour and drawing ever sice.

Sharon Wedel
Sharon finds the immediacy and vibrancy of pastel suits her current figurative style. Her paintings vary in subject but she is forever drawn to the beauty that is the female form.
''I see each piece as a celebration of what it is to be a woman. Voluptuous curves, exaggerated shapes unfolding into sometimes sensual, sometimes cheeky, but always soft and beautiful woman.'' |
